ChatGPT in personal life
You use AI to solve work problems. But have you tried using the same prompts to plan a vacation, organize your budget, or decide on a big purchase? Most people never have — and they're leaving hours of saved time on the table.
Personal finance
Paste your monthly expenses (without sensitive data like account numbers) and ask: "Categorize these expenses and suggest where to cut 10%."
Another example: "Build a monthly budget for a family of 3 in New York, with realistic market values."
Travel
"Plan a 5-day trip to Tokyo on a $2,000 budget for a couple. Include sights, restaurants, and transportation."
AI suggests an itinerary, estimates costs, and even warns about documents and weather.
Studying
"Explain compound interest as if I were 12 years old. Then give me 3 exercises to practice."
Works for any subject. You can ask it to adapt the level: "for a child," "for a beginner," "for a professional."
Everyday decisions
"I'm torn between renting and buying a home. Help me think through the pros and cons, considering I plan to stay in this city for 3 years."
AI doesn't decide for you. But it organizes the arguments so you can decide better.
Food and health
"Create a weekly meal plan with 3 meals a day, $150 budget, gluten-free and dairy-free."
"Suggest a 20-minute home workout routine, 3 times a week."
Same rule as at work
Just like at work, the more context you give, the better the answer. "Help me plan a trip" is generic. "Plan 5 days in Miami in July, couple, $3,000 budget, we love the beach and seafood" is precise.
